Being fortunate enough to live or work in the South Beach Mission Bay neighborhood provides us with many opportunities to treat ourselves to delicious food, drink, and fantastic things to enjoy from baseball games to art exhibits.

In addition to enjoying these benefits, the residents of South Beach Mission Bay serve as active members in the broader community by reaching out and helping some of our neighboring areas whose circumstances are not as fortunate.

Whether is it volunteering during a Giants Community Fund effort, attending fund raisers at some of our local venues, coaching a young girl to train for her first 5K race or providing much needed items to various shelters, our residents are always ready to lend a helping hand. The links below highlight some of the key organizations that are supported by the South Beach Mission Bay residents. Get involved!

Shelley's Story

by Shelley Carroll RN, MSN, CNOR

Newly retired from my nursing career and eager to make a difference in my community, I was drawn to Project Homeless Connect. Some people think there's no homelessness in my South Beach neighborhood, but that's just not true. There is evidence outside the restaurants and the shops I frequent and on the block where I live.

As a medical entry volunteer at Project Homeless Connect outreach events, I've signed in thousands of people who need medical services. The events give homeless people a chance by connecting them to 250 services in the same place on the same day. For information on joining hundreds of volunteers at the next Project Homeless Connect, click on the red Project Homeless Connect icon.
